"Joshua and the Conquest of Canaan"
The book of Joshua records the account of the Israelite conquest of Canaan and the initial fulfillment of the land promises made to the patriarchs. The conquest has been routinely criticized by scholars as an unnecessary and excessively brutal campaign never sanctioned by a loving God. Yet Joshua’s campaign into Canaan was indeed a divine mission bringing judgment on the wicked and glory not to himself but to his holy God. In this lecture, Dr. Sproul discusses the life of Joshua and the conquest of Canaan.

The Letter to the Romans is considered to be the first great work of Christian theology, and could be called “The Gospel to the Romans” or even “The Gospel According to Paul” because all of the essentials of the Gospel are found in it. The meaning and importance of this letter were not just for 1st century Christians; Paul’s message is very applicable for us today.

The Psalms are not in chronological order, but neither are they in arbitrary order. They were collected & organized after the Israelites began to return from Babylon, about 500 B.C. It isn't known exactly who organized them. The 150 Psalms begin with a Prologue, then are broadly grouped into 5 “books," each with a focus and ending with praise to Yahweh, and finally ending with an Epilogue.
